As the parent of an autistic child, stories like this warm my heart. Our son, too, is severely autistic and (largely) non-verbal. Finding that “one thing” that sparks their interest and fascination, especially something as complex and enjoyable as music, is a wonderful and beautiful thing. For Logan, its numbers and shapes.
I hope that every child, on the spectrum or not, has the opportunity to experience this kind of wonder early in life. I know from my own experiences that it’s a glorious and inspiring feeling to have.
